When I was growing up, my family called these yams, it’s how the supermarkets labeled them; however, they’re actually sweet potatoes, jewel sweet potatoes, to be exact. Here’s my inspired version of the ones my mom made every Thanksgiving and Easter. They’re the star side dish, perfectly paired with savory turkey and salty ham.
